Dear Erik,
I am writing this note to thank you for your wonderful assistance in the design of my website. I am very happy with both the design and the service of your company.
I don’t know if you remember the reason I hired you but I will remind you. I had hired another web designer to do my site. I had never had a site done before and I must tell you that the designer was a nightmare. She was unprofessional and in the end she tried to extort money out of me. When we were 90% finished she refused to finish the site unless I paid her nearly double the amount we had agreed to. I had agreed to pay for some extra work she had done but what she did was bordering on illegal.
When I came to you I was paranoid and over protective. I am sure I seemed like a tyrant and you may have had second thoughts about having me as a client. I remember demanding that you not only give me the web addresses of the sites you had done but also the phone numbers of the client. I only did that so I could talk, in person, with some of your clients. I am now happy to say that you can share my phone number with anyone you like. I especially recommend that you refer me to a paranoid client like I was.
Your design work is first rate. Everyone who sees my site loves it. But design work is only half the battle and to be honest, designers are readily available but an honest and dependable designer is special and your company is both. You did what was agreed upon and you did it in a timely manner and most importantly you did not try to hold me hostage in the end. You completed the work and requested that I pay you the final balance. I did not get any long explanations about the “extra work” or “client changes” and for that I am most grateful. I was worried until the end and the least I can do is tell you that you can use me as a reference any time.
